I ordered this for my son & his wife’s anniversary but wasn’t aware that it was digital so I sent it to another company to have it printed on canvas but your copyright came through the print. They were gracious enough to thank me but it could have been smoother if I hadn’t gotten caught up with tge adds I saw on FB

It was a gift for friends that our huge fans of Game of Thrones. The picture I chose was as close to.that theme as I could find. They loved it.

We had so much fun with the portrait developing and the finished art is amazing. My husband is Danish and I am Swedish heritage, many things in our home are Viking related. This was for our 34th wedding anniversary my husband just loved it when he opened it. We ordered another with our son (he is 30 yr old) as a short viking.

An amazing experience! Everyone was very patient with me and worked hard to get the result that we love!! The Portrait is incredible and my husband loves his Father’s Day present.

My son and his wife, in Ireland, really loved it! They were married in Denmark, and called it, their Viking Wedding. I would have liked to make a change to it, but I never received a sample preview before it was printed and sent. I’m really glad they liked it.

I ordered this for my daughter and son-in-law for their anniversary. I wish I could have seen their faces but alas I live in one state and they in another. But they did get a kick out of it and are displaying it on their wall!!

It was an Anniversary gift for our son and daughter-in-law and they loved it! I did submit a video! Also the package had a big hole in it and even the paper covering it was ripped! Looked like something had punched through it! But there was no damage to the picture!! I was almost too scared to look!

It looked weird. Like the heads were not supposed to be on the bodies.

Emailed several times to make adjustments to portrait. Did not get all the changes I asked for. After several days with no response, finally got an email that said that my portrait is in production and no changes can be made. The portrait arrived ok, but not exactly as I requested. Not a good experience.

Love our viking portrait. It's so cool! People love it when they come over. Such a fun addition to our home. We upgraded and got the 18x24, which was a good choice.

I would love to write a review but it hasn't arrived yet. It was originally scheduled to arrive on 5/14/24; today is 5/25/24 and it still isn't here.

My daughter and son-in-law were delighted with their picture. It made them laugh, but they loved being portrayed as fearless Vikings! Since they are both in law enforcement, I believe there was a subliminal connection to those defenders of the realm!

Took awhile to get the changes exactly right. Finally quality is ok. Faces looks a little distorted on the print. If it was picture upload quality, artist should have said something. Not worth the price.

Being a professional graphic designer/illustrator, I was thinking to create a renaissance style painting of my husband and I as soldiers/warriors for a birthday present of his. He has recently been diagnosed with cancer and I wanted to do an idea like we’re fighting together side by side. Anyways, I realized I didn’t have time (or a private computer) to work on this so I decided to order from Turn Me Royal. Many reviews I read were mixed so I thought I would just take a chance. Ordering: Ordering couldn’t be easier. I just uploaded my reference pictures and chose which model each face would be on (also there’s a spot to write extra notes if you have any). You can choose different size/framing options and confirm. The canvas size I got was 12”x16” with no frame. Reference Pictures: it is VERY helpful to follow the guidelines and upload a good quality picture (from the right angle according to the template you pick) for success. I had to go through tons of pictures to find one of my husband and just took a new picture of myself to have the right angle and expression for the art. Proof: I was pleasantly surprised how fast a proof was sent to me… within 24hrs of ordering. Kudos to the artist! Revisions: The artist did a fantastic job (from artist to artist lol), I only requested one minor revision, which was on a Friday night. Keep in mind the company goes by BUSINESS DAYS, but even then my revised artwork was ready early that Monday morning. Again, kudos to the artist! Art Quality: I looked at lots of reviews with pictures before ordering, some looked like the faces were really digitally painted by hand with digital brushes and others looked like the reference photo was just copy and pasted on the template (those looked horrible!!) It really depends on the artist they assign to your order I guess, but I took a chance and I’m super thankful I could tell right away the artist digitally painted our faces by hand and was not a carbon copy of the reference photo (and the brushes and colors used matched the template as well). So thankful for the artist I got! Shipping time: I approved the final artwork on a Monday, and the order was printed and shipped that Thursday, and was delivered that Saturday. Final Product: I absolutely love the final product, except there’s one thing that really bothered me that makes me want to give only 4 stars… THE PACKAGING. The canvas artwork was not packaged in any type of protection or plastic (even though on the website it’s noted there is a protective cover). Canvas was just placed in the ship box without any protection whatsoever. There was a minor puncture in the box during transit, but thankfully only left a tiny barely noticeable mark on the canvas. But any bigger puncture, friction, and definitely water would completely damage the product the way it was packaged and sent out (I’m thankful there was only a small puncture but definitely could’ve been worse). What He Thought: Anyways, I got a personalized plaque to stick on the canvas and my Husband absolutely loved it! It’s hard to impress him and he was blown away. He even hung it up on the wall right away! Because of the packaging I almost gave this review a 4 star, but because the ordering process was great, the artist did a fantastic job, the final product is beautiful, and my perfectionist husband loved it and was so impressed (as well as I who also am a professional artist/graphic designer), I’m keeping it at a 5 star. Great work you guys, just careful with the packaging!

The original request was hilariously AWEFUL. When I requested it be corrected by the artist after the initial rough draft, I got ZERO response. After waiting for a week, with no reply, I emailed them directly. I then waited another few days and was told my options were to lose 20% of what I paid, or have them do another one, with a different artist. The back and forth took about 2.5 weeks, with another 4 or 5 days to receive the final product. Knowing what I know today....I wouldn't have done this. The company is very difficult to work with, there is no one you can actually talk to, and they are obviously working in another time zone (because I would get a reply to my emails at 2 am, and couldn't get a reply the same day). You can save ur money and have a similar product by going on any AI picture generator.

We absolutely love this. We have it hanging in our living room. It is always the topic of the conversation when its seen by our guests.

The picture is cute but not worth the money I paid. I was disappointed that it was shipped in nothing but a large paper envelope without any additional wrapping or in a box to protect it. Even though it was only an 8x10 it should have been boxed with more care.

We go to the Texas Renaissance Festival every year as Vikings. This year we saw someone painting portraits there and thought it would be an awesome thing to do! However the price was 2,000. So we had to pass. I saw this on Facebook and decided to surprise my husband with it! We absolutely adore this and plan to get more!

Very pleasant experience. The team made a simple Eye Color modification and nailed it. My Daughter and Son in law laughed and laughed and loved it. Now after 10 years of marriage they are fighting. Fighting as to where to hang the masterpiece! Thank you again.!! I am currently working on selecting two males for a gay couple I know. Great experience!

My youngest son is all about the Norse tribes. This was the perfect gift for him and his love. He did ask me why she got the sword. I said because men are capable of ripping the head off, womban use less effort and implements.

I had this made for my son and his wife for Christmas and they LOVED it! The time from when I ordered, when I was sent the photo to preview and when I received the final product was SO fast! This has been a frustrating experience. Your customer service is terrible. I waited two weeks for a response from your team on my shipment (which ended up arriving after Christmas- this was supposed to be a gift for my boss!). The picture arrived warped (the canvas was pulled so tight it’s bending the frame) so it cannot even be hung flat against the wall. I reached out to your company AGAIN to request another be sent, with no response. You do not have a phone number to be reached but you don’t respond to emails. I intend to take further action if I do not hear from your office by the end of the week.

I was promised delete before Chistmas in an advertisement. It did not arive in time. I approved the portrait immediately because I needed it to be delivered in time. The portrait looks rushed and cheap. I would never recommend your company to anyone. Very disappointed.

The gift was really well received. My only disappointment was that it came after Christmas even though the confirmation email I received indicated it would ship beforehand based on the number of business days after approval. And when I reached out to Customer Service I also got zero response even after waiting the number of business days stated in the auto reply. I honestly started to think it was a scam. That being said, the image is lovely, but I’m fairly certain it wasn’t created by an artist and was probably AI generated. Overall my bf absolutely loved it, but the entire backend experience was disappointing considering how much they charge.

I was a bit dissappointed at first because I don't have very many good pictures of myself and the first submission didn't work well. I thought they would do more styling and editing to make you look better, sharper, and more colorful like the charater picture they put you in. Nope. Every line, wrinkle, double chin, or wrong neckline from the high collar of the sweater in the picture you send them shows. How about a little more creative editing?!? Instead of making us look like those gag wooden character paintings at Faire you put your head in and take pictures?

Received day after Christmas. Ordered a couple weeks prior with expedited. Approved right away. Emails asking for credit of expedited went unanswered. Horrible customer service. Will be ordering in future from another company for gifts.

I placed my order on 11/28/23 for a Viking couple. I had noticed on the website samples one girl had a headband and the guy had a Viking helmet. I requested a link to see the options of what could be done/added to the portrait. There is no such link available, they add what they want. I had submitted a few pics hoping that from them they could capture the essence of a “Viking” look. My daughter’s face in the previews looked distorted and “off”, I kept expressing my displeasure. I did not like my son in laws face either. I expressed a Viking should have a stoic look, not laughing or smiling. I had been advised I could upload a new pics but I had uploaded 3 to begin with, they had other pics to work with. I responded in a timely manner with every email exchange, I was specific in what did not look right. The helmet that was added was not the same as in the sample and I could not see what options there were. There were over 50 emails going back and forth to correct the issues, all in a timely manner. The corrections were not made. On 12/11/23, I received another email my artwork was ready for review. My daughters eyes looked crossed and the portrait was still “off”. This had been pointed out before. The next day on 12/12/23 I gave up and just submitted two new pics, in the email expressing again how unhappy I was with how the portrait was coming out. I told them my daughter is NOT going to like how she looks. On 12/14/23, I received an email saying my portrait had shipped!!. I did not agree, I did not authorize the portrait, it was not acceptable. I had submitted every email exchange within the company’s timeline and they violated their own timeline and sent it out. I immediately emailed them to inform them I had not authorized this. I received an automated response. On 12/15/23 I emailed again my displeasure. Athena responded and stated that because I did not confirm or request revisions the SYSTEM automatically approves the artwork in 72 hours. Thank God all emails are timed and date stamped. This was not true. I had documentation that I did respond in a timely fashion and it was an internal error and this needed to be corrected. P.S. it is now Jan 3rd, I have sent an additional extremely detailed emails with dates and times of our exchanges, and screen shots of the exchanges with the pics. On 12/15/23 Athena responded they would agree to redo the portrait if I agree to pay an additional $20 for shipping of the new portrait. There would be no need for an additional portrait if they did not ship the original one. I again detailed how I was right in my timeline of responses, and we were still working on it. That was the last response I had from the company. I have emailed the company (the only way you can communicate with them) every other day since then, the latest was yesterday. No RESPONSE. I even was figuring they may shut down for vacation after Christmas for a week. But I have had NO RESPONSE. All I wanted was a portrait that would have wowed my daughter. Not what was sent. Very disappointed with how this has been handled.

I had the Viking couple made for my son and his wife and they absolutely loved it. I tried to upload the video of them opening it but the video was too big. Their reaction was hilarious. Great experience and I highly recommend this for anyone, esp for people who are just too hard to buy for.

My daughter and her husband got married in a casual backyard ceremony, and she always regretted not having a professional photographer take a picture of her and her husband in their wedding clothes. I downloaded their faces to your website and chose the Viking couple as the background. They absolutely loved it and hung it over the fireplace. It was so much fun to give them the portrait, and you did amazing work. It was high quality, I reviewed it before purchase, and it was everything you promised.

I ordered this for my employers which happen to be two very straight men but very close business partners! They absolutely LOVED it and were completely shocked. This is such a great idea no matter who it's for and will brighten anyone's day when gifting it or seeing it every day on a wall. During the "proofing" stage, I was a little worried that the actual photo quality I uploaded wouldn't match the "royalty" quality of the royal photo that I chose, but rest assure- the final product is perfection! Thank you for helping me brighten some days for those who have brightened many of mine. HIGHLY recommend!

I was skeptical of the quality, but decided to take chance. The entire experience was simple and without complications. Submitted what was basically a chest up mug shot (taken on a smart phone) of my daughter and her new husband. No expression, just poker faces, both looking at a slight angle away from the camera. TMR artists applied their pictures to the character design we chose and made them look painted on canvas. They emailed the first proof and it looked great on my computer screen. I approved the proof and waited for it to arrive, still skeptical of what the actual quality would be. About a week or so later, it arrived. Absolutely blew me away. Got it put in a grand frame for Presentation to my daughter and new son in law at Christmas for what I am sure will be a holiday freakout. It looks like I stole it off a wall of a castle in Europe. Completely exceeded our expectations.

Heads, not hand drawn, but rather image submitted is cut from .jpeg submitted, then ran thru software that makes head look like painting, then photoshopped on chosen canvas. The saving grace is that you have to look really close to see it. Photo choice you submit will depend in results. Expensive for what you get, but I knew that going in., nothing really misleading except for the hand drawn business.
